"Goode Thing" as displayed in Brokers photos. Bavaria 42

"It is never too late to start". For us, we have been yacht cruising for ever but have never kept a proper record. Or shared our times. Penny has kept a diary but that is not a blog about the journeys on our yacht. And private. And my ship's log attempts are disgraceful and in any case only cover passage making. And then pathetic. Bordering on irresponsible by any Mariner's judgement.

Motivation for this late start at blogging is caused by us acquiring a new craft. Almost unexpectedly, while land travelling  in Bali recently we checked out a yacht based in Phuket but she was tired and maybe a bit old. But we found a Bavaria 42 that is in Greece, an Australian Registered Ship, owned by a Sydney based Australian and reasonably priced.

While we write this account, we have almost finalised the purchase of "Goode Thing" (GT) and have yet to see her. Pat will travel to Katakolon in Greece later this month to get GT shipshape and ready to start our Mediterranean cruising. Penny will join a couple of weeks later.

We absolutely love the western Pacific islands, Tonga, Fiji, New Caledonia and all the smaller ones. We will return to this paradise when we bring GT home. The previous owner of GT, Mark, has a date to join us at Neiafu, Tonga and re-visit the islands of the Vava'u group and our friends there.

Meanwhile we cannot wait to discover the Med.
